About Memorare Media

“Our world no longer hears God because it is constantly speaking, at a devastating speed and volume, in order to say nothing. Modern civilization does not know how to be quiet. It holds forth in an unending monologue.”

-- Cardinal Robert Sarah

My Spiritual Father once told me, "The good does not make noise, the noise does not make good."

Those words served as a source of inspiration for Memorare Media.

Since the dawn of social media, the faithful have been subject to a lot of "noise."

Personally, I found that when I was caught up in all of it, my spirit was more troubled than edified.

I'm not looking to become the next social media "influencer," or some speaker on the Catholic circuit. Neither am I looking to become a best-selling author. Rather, I'm just an average guy, hoping to offer my unworthy prayers and to present readers with some down to earth, albeit often sardonic observations of current events that affect the Catholic Church. No inflated scholarly language, no overly complicated theology, no hype, just simple observations and reflections.

While my commentaries may at times rub people the wrong way, I am of the opinion that a civilized society can still agree to disagree in a respectful manner. I'll admit, it's rare these days, but I think there are a few people remaining who are capable of treating one another with dignity and decency regardless of differing views and opinions.

I established Memorare Media in 2022, hoping to do some good without making a lot of noise. At Marycrest, my home in the Blue Ridge Mountains, I am blessed to be surrounded by silence. Here, with my eyes I see deer at play and chipmunks frolicking. With my ears, I hear birds and frogs singing. With my nose, I smell the lofty pines and the moss of the forest. But the greatest gift found within this sacred silence is that with my heart, I am able to hear God.

Oh, that everybody could have a place like Marycrest.

In this quasi-eremitical life I lead, I write from this special place. Never taking for granted the blessing. Likewise, I am grateful that you have taken time to explore my website. I hope it will be to your spiritual edification.

Whether confounded by noise, or enveloped in silence, let's remember to look to the example of Our Blessed Mother. May we always strive to imitate her in thought, word, and deed. By praying the Memorare daily, let us implore her help in our effort to lead a life pleasing to God.

"Do not look forward to the changes and chances of this life with fear. Rather, look to them with full confidence that, as they arise, God to whom you belong will in his love enable you to profit by them. He has guided you thus far in life. Do you but hold fast to His dear hand, and He will lead you safely through all trials. Whenever you cannot stand, He will carry you lovingly in his arms.

Do not look forward to what may happen tomorrow. The same Eternal Father who takes care of you today will take care of you tomorrow, and every day of your life. Either He will shield you from suffering or He will give you unfailing strength to bear it.

Be at peace then, and put aside all useless thoughts, all vain dreads and all anxious imaginations."

-- St. Francis de Sales
